These Terms of Use govern your access to and use of the Hillscore website and services ("Hillscore", "we", "us" or "our").

By accessing or using Hillscore, you agree to these Terms of Use. If you do not agree to them, please do not use the website.

1. About Hillscore

Hillscore is an independent research and information service that collects, organises, and analyses publicly available information concerning financial disclosures and reported securities transactions by members of the United States Congress.

Hillscore provides data, analysis, historical performance information, comparisons, and other research tools for informational and research purposes only.

Hillscore is not a broker, dealer, investment adviser, financial adviser, investment manager, accountant, tax adviser, or other professional adviser. We do not act as a fiduciary to any user.

Nothing on Hillscore constitutes personal investment advice, a personal recommendation, an offer to buy or sell any security, or a solicitation to engage in any investment activity.

2. Investment and Financial Information

The information provided by Hillscore is intended to assist users in conducting their own research and is not intended to determine what any individual should buy, sell, or hold.

References to securities, companies, portfolios, trading performance, rankings, scores, signals, or other investment-related information should not be interpreted as recommendations or endorsements.

Past performance, whether relating to members of Congress, securities, portfolios, strategies, or Hillscore's own analyses, is not necessarily indicative of future results.

Investing involves risk, including the possible loss of some or all of your invested capital. Using any graph, chart, formula, score, or other analytical device to assist in deciding which securities to trade presents significant limitations; prior patterns may not repeat themselves, and market conditions change rapidly.

You should conduct your own independent research and, where appropriate, seek professional financial advice before making investment decisions. You are solely responsible for any investment or other decisions you make based on information obtained through Hillscore.

3. Data and Sources

Hillscore uses publicly available information and third-party data sources. Although we seek to present information accurately and responsibly, we do not guarantee that any information is complete, current, accurate, or free from errors.

Congressional financial disclosures and transaction reports may contain errors, omissions, amendments, reporting delays, or ambiguities originating from the filers.

Hillscore may process, interpret, standardise, or otherwise analyse source information, meaning our presentation may differ from the original source. Amounts are disclosed by members as ranges rather than exact figures, and prices shown are ordinary closing prices rather than execution prices; neither is a defect in this site's reporting, and both are detailed further on our methodology page.

The underlying dataset is published in full so that users can verify any figure for themselves against official filings.

4. Hillscore Analysis and Methodology

Hillscore may calculate or display proprietary scores, rankings, performance measures, classifications, comparisons, and other analytical outputs, including Composite, Notable, and Cluster analyses.

These outputs are based on methodologies, assumptions, and analytical choices determined by Hillscore. They are provided as research screening tools and should not be treated as objective or definitive assessments of an investment, individual, company, or trading strategy.

In particular, a Notable or Cluster flag records that a trade fell within a sector overseen by a committee the member sits on, or that congressional colleagues traded the same stock in a similar period. This is a screening signal only and is not an allegation of wrongdoing, insider dealing, or misuse of information. Members of Congress are permitted by law to trade securities subject to applicable disclosure rules.

Hillscore may modify its methodologies, calculations, classifications, or presentation formats from time to time without prior notice.

5. No Guarantee of Results

Hillscore does not guarantee any particular investment outcome, financial result, or market alpha.

No representation is made that following, replicating, or analysing congressional trading activity will produce profitable results for any user.

Historical performance figures are heavily affected by factors including transaction timing, reporting delays, portfolio construction, fees, taxes, and broader market conditions.

6. Availability and Third-Party Services

We aim to keep Hillscore available and operational, but we do not guarantee that the website, its data, or any particular feature will always be available, uninterrupted, or error-free.

Hillscore may contain links to third-party websites, services, or data sources. These are provided for convenience and reference only. We do not control and are not responsible for the content, availability, accuracy, security, or privacy practices of third-party websites.

7. Intellectual Property

The Hillscore website, including its design, branding, original written content, software, analytical presentation, and proprietary methodologies, is owned by or licensed to Hillscore and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws.

The underlying public information and source disclosures are not claimed by Hillscore as proprietary merely because they are reproduced, referenced, or analysed on the website.

Published Dataset Licence

The CSV files available on our data page are published under a Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International licence (CC BY 4.0). Under that licence, you may copy, redistribute, and adapt those files for any purpose, including commercially and to build competing services, provided you credit Hillscore with a direct link and state whether changes were made.

Where that licence and the restrictions in this section or in section 8 conflict, the licence governs those files.

This licence covers our compilation — the matching of trades to prices, sector assignments, and scoring algorithms — and not the underlying facts or United States government records, which remain public domain.

If you believe that information displayed on Hillscore is inaccurate, incomplete, or incorrectly attributed, please contact us with details and, where possible, reference the underlying source filing.

Where a figure on this site disagrees with the official government filing it was derived from, the official filing is correct.

We may investigate and correct, amend, or remove information at our discretion, but we do not undertake an absolute obligation to review or correct every historical error or discrepancy.

10. Limitation of Liability and Indemnification

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Hillscore and its operator shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive loss or damage arising from or in connection with your use of, or reliance upon, information, analysis, data, or other content provided through the website. This includes, without limitation, investment losses, loss of profits, loss of revenue, loss of opportunity, or loss of anticipated savings.

Indemnification. You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Hillscore, its operator, and its affiliates from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or in any way connected with your access to or use of the website, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any rights of a third party.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits any statutory liability or consumer rights that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited under applicable law.

13. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales.

Subject to any mandatory legal protections that may apply to you under your local jurisdiction, the courts of England and Wales shall have exclusive jurisdiction over any disputes arising from or relating to these Terms or your use of Hillscore.
